It is common for us to receive inquiries from individuals asking to join our coven. We feel it is important to explain how membership works within the Grail.
We do our best to meet people where they are at on their respective journeys, and so we offer different levels of membership in order to accommodate.
Designations
Friend of the Grail: Someone who attends Full Moon Circles and parties.
Member of the Grail: A dues paying individual who has committed to supporting the Grail’s vision of Avalon who attends Full Moon Circles and parties.
Seeker of the Grail: A dues paying individual who has committed to the Grail’s vision of Avalon, attends Full Moon Circles and parties, and is exploring the foundations of Pagan education that Crow provides prior to Full Moon Circles.
None of the above is considered coven-level membership.
Students, Scions, Initiates, and Priests/Priestesses all began their Grail quest through Red Oak Coven, our teaching coven designed to further Pagan education and provide the skills required for emerging leaders. In the past, student applications were given out upon request. At this time, student applications are available by invitation only and only to those who have demonstrated commitment to the Grail
church and have proven themselves to be trustworthy to members of Red Oak
Coven. When someone becomes a student, they are taking on work and responsibility; they become a sister or a brother to other coven members. There’s a lot of work that takes place behind the scenes, and we need dedicated, committed people to make that work happen.
Red Oak Coven is not a social club. When someone becomes a student, they
are committing personal and financial resources to the work and responsibility to the ministry of the coven; they have proven themselves to be trustworthy. Members of Red Oak Coven are held to a greater expectation of honor and commitment to the
well being of coven members, the community, and the environment. Dedicated,
committed members of Red Oak Coven make that work happen.
Seekers and Members of the Grail church who consistently attend and help out at
Grail church circles and other events, and financially support the work of the Grail
through regular contribution, may receive the invitation to join Red Oak Coven.
If you are called to Red Oak Coven ministry, begin by becoming involved in the Grail
church as a Member or Seeker. If this level of commitment aligns with your personal
and spiritual goals, your next step is to speak with a member for further guidance.
