Our Progress as of 1/11/2017
For over twenty years, the Order of the Red Grail was able to hold our Full Moon Circles, Samhain, and Yule parties in our local Unitarian Church. This arrangement worked well for both us and the Unitarians and we are very thankful to have spent many hot summers and snowy winters in a lovely building. In 2014, the Unitarian Church was under renovation, which left us making do with local park shelters when we were able to rent them, and outside in the beautiful Lincoln weather when we were unable to secure an indoor shelter. Whether inside or out, we praised the Gods and Goddesses joyfully, but we have come to the realization that in order for us to best serve our community we need a permanent hearth.
As a result, we are now scouting land to build our temple, our gardens, a place of our own, and we’d like to share some of our plans with you.
-We plan to stay near Lincoln and within Lancaster county.
-We plan on building a dedicated indoor space for worship, complete with kitchen and bathrooms as well as offices for private counseling sessions, and a library/reading room. We plan on making these buildings as eco-friendly and “green” as possible.
-Outdoors, we want to have a permanent maypole and fire pit for Beltane celebrations.
-A memorial garden with a labyrinth and benches to reflect and honor those we love and cherish that are no longer with us.
-A community garden to teach sustainable gardening practices and to give back to our community one organic piece of produce at a time.
